PREVIEW: SEPTEMBER

I’m typing this still reeling from my return to work after a week in Spain. My holiday, while I don’t want to seem ungrateful, got in the way of at least three match days – i’ll be the first to admit this was poorly planned. Anyway, now that is out of the way with, I can focus on important things like football.

I currently have a trio of exciting and varied games planned for September with hopefully one more still to be announced on one of my (for the time being) free weekends. And of course there’s always an outside chance of a Cup replay midweek.

First up on the 7th will be my first ever Wessex League (Division One, this time) game – Pewsey Vale versus Newport – the ones from the Isle of Wight. A midweek game after work on the 17th will be next as Odd Down face Western League newcomers Lebeq in the Les Phillips Cup (The LPC is the Western League’s league cup). My final confirmed fixture is a trip south to Sherborne v Warminster in the Western League Division One on the last Saturday of the month.

These plans leave the 14th and the 21st free for now. My reasoning being that on the 14th Bath City are at home and there’s also the FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round that day. On the 21st Bath enter the FA Cup so if they get a tasty draw i’ll likely be heading to that. If not then Melksham Town v Thatcham Town beckons. It will have to be EITHER the 14th OR the 21st though so i’ve got a tough decision to make!

So that’s how my September is looking at the moment. Thanks for reading and I hope you continue to follow!
